The first Scrum was created by Jeff Sutherland and his team at Easel Corporation in 1993 based on extensive experience in real-life porjects, review of the entire computer science literature for best practices, adpoting of lean practices developed by Japanese industry, practical implementation of complex adaptive systems theory, and deep understanding of MIT Prof. Rodney Brooks subsumption architecture, now used as the basis of all products for one of the world's leading robot companies, iRobot. Jeff will describe some of the fascinating concepts that led to Scrum and the important role that his Co-Creator, Ken Schwaber, played in deploying Scrum worldwide.
